How Much VapoCept Citrulline Is in One Capsule?
The VapoCept citrulline lines are two of the seven on the label. Each is printed as 100 mg, but the amount of citrulline itself is smaller, and the studies used far more.
VapoCept citrulline comes from two entries: 100 mg of L-citrulline HCl and 100 mg of L-citrulline malate. Together they deliver about 155 mg of citrulline a capsule at best. The lowest studied dose we could cite is 2.4 g a day, which would take 16 capsules. The label says one.

What does the VapoCept citrulline label say?
VapoCept citrulline appears twice on the label. One line is L-citrulline HCl at 100 mg. The other is L-citrulline malate at 100 mg. Together the label declares 200 mg.
Declared weight is not the same as citrulline weight. The first line is a hydrochloride, and 82.8% of its weight is citrulline. The second is a malate, and at its nominal 2:1 ratio 72.3% is citrulline. So the capsule delivers 82.8 mg plus 72.3 mg, which is about 155 mg at best.
The label does not state the malate ratio. If the real ratio is lower than 2:1, the delivered amount is lower than 155 mg. At 1.1:1 the total falls to 141.7 mg.
What dose did the VapoCept citrulline studies use?
The table lists the dose in each study named on this site's ingredient page. Doses are in grams a day, not milligrams.
| Study | Dose | What was found |
|---|---|---|
| Trained cyclists | 2.4 g a day for 7 days | The lowest dose with a reported effect that we could open |
| 2008 pharmacokinetic study | Up to 3 g twice daily | Plasma arginine rose more than with arginine itself; blood vessel dilation did not improve |
| 2025 performance trial | About 7.4 g a day | No improvement in time to exhaustion |
| 2016 postgraduate thesis | 1.5 g a day in 16 people | Mood changes within groups; no significant difference against placebo |

For memory, we could not find a peer-reviewed human trial of citrulline. The citrulline and memory work we saw was in rodents.
How far is one VapoCept citrulline capsule from 2.4 g?
Divide 2,400 mg by 155 mg and you get 15.5. Round up and you reach 16 capsules a day. That is the number in the capsule count. The label says one.
A bottle holds 30 capsules. At 155 mg each that is about 4.65 g of citrulline in the whole bottle, or about 1.9 days of the 2.4 g dose.
Taking 16 capsules a day is not advised, and nothing in the directions allows it. At the 6-bottle price of $1.63 a day it would also cost about $26 a day, and about $42 at the 2-bottle price. The sums only show scale.
Why would a formula include VapoCept citrulline?
The reasoning is real. Citrulline is converted to arginine in the kidney. That route avoids the gut enzyme that breaks down a lot of oral arginine. So citrulline is the more sensible of the two for raising plasma arginine, and there is direct evidence for that.
The idea behind the label is more nitric oxide, more widening of blood vessels and perhaps better blood flow to the brain. It is a plausible idea. The trouble is the dose. At about 155 mg, the capsule sits well below every dose that trials used.
Who should be careful with VapoCept citrulline?
Citrulline acts on the same nitric oxide pathway as nitrates, some blood pressure medicines and erectile dysfunction medicines. At 155 mg the effect is expected to be small, but show the bottle to a pharmacist if you take any of those.
Pregnancy and nursing guidance is not published. The capsule is for adults 18 and over. If you have a medical condition, ask a doctor first.

Frequently asked questions
How much citrulline is in VapoCept?
The label declares 200 mg across two entries. The citrulline itself is about 155 mg at best, because part of each entry is acid.
What is citrulline malate?
It is citrulline bound to malic acid, normally described as 2:1. The label does not state the ratio, so the exact citrulline amount is a range.
What dose of citrulline did studies use?
The lowest dose with a reported effect that we could open was 2.4 g a day for 7 days. Other trials used more.
Does citrulline improve memory?
We found no peer-reviewed human trial that shows this. The memory work we saw was in rodents.
Is it safe with blood pressure medicine?
Ask a pharmacist. Citrulline acts on the nitric oxide pathway, and the amount in one capsule is small, but the class of interaction is worth naming.
Can I take more capsules to reach the study dose?
The directions say one capsule a day. This site does not suggest raising it. Ask a doctor or pharmacist who can see your medicines.
Our view
VapoCept citrulline is a sensible ingredient at the wrong scale for the studies. The label prints the milligrams clearly, which is to its credit, and the milligrams are small.
That does not make the capsule unsafe. It means you should not read the research on citrulline as research on this capsule. No trial of the finished formula is published.
If you try it, treat it as a personal test with a written baseline and a decision date.
For the salt arithmetic read our post what a salt weight hides, the guide to reading a quantified label, and the VapoCept home page. The VapoCept citrulline sums use best-case weights.
