VapoCept Cost: Pack Prices and Price per Day

Three packs, three prices, all published. This page adds the arithmetic the checkout does not.

Revised By VapoCept Editorial DeskReviewed by Dr. Mary Cunningham, neuropsychologistReading time 9 min

Quick answer

VapoCept is $158 for two bottles, $207 for three and $294 for six.

That is $79, $69 or $49 a bottle, or $2.63, $2.30 and $1.63 a day. Shipping is shown at checkout.

Before you pick, read the 60-day guarantee.

Those are the prices supplied to this website. No single-bottle price was given and no shipping figure was either. The day counts and the cost a day are ours, and they are division: 30 capsules a bottle, one capsule a day, 30 days a bottle.

The six-pack outlives the guarantee

Six bottles is 180 days of capsules. The guarantee is 60 days from purchase. If you buy six and stop at day 60, four bottles are unopened and outside the window. That is not hidden — both numbers are published — and it is not pointed out at checkout either.

The comparison that matters

Cost per day

The six-bottle pack is 38% cheaper per day than the two-bottle pack. That is a genuine saving and it is why the badge says so.

It is also a $294 commitment to a formula you have not tried, with a guarantee that expires at day 60. The two-bottle pack at $158 covers exactly the guarantee window, which makes it the only pack where the product and the protection line up.

The other arithmetic

Cost per gram of amino acid

A bottle holds 30 capsules. Each capsule delivers 536 mg of actual amino acid once the salt arithmetic is done, so a bottle holds 16.1 g.

What a gram of amino acid costs, by pack.
PackPer bottleAmino acid per bottlePer gram
Two bottles$7916.1 g$4.91
Three bottles$6916.1 g$4.29
Six bottles$4916.1 g$3.04

We publish this because it is arithmetic, not because cost per gram is how anyone should buy a supplement. Form, evidence and adherence all matter more than mass.

It becomes relevant here for one reason: the ingredients on this label are commodity amino acids that are widely sold as bulk powders in gram servings. A buyer whose interest is the citrulline or the beta-alanine specifically is in a position to compare directly, and this table is what makes that comparison possible.

What you are also paying for

A capsule, a bottle, a label, encapsulation, a 60-day guarantee reserve, card fees, shipping, a phone line that answers and marketing. None of that is free and none of it is unreasonable. The figures above are the ingredient side only.

Before you order

What is not included

  • Shipping. Not published to this site. It is calculated at checkout.
  • Tax. Depends on your state and appears at checkout.
  • Return shipping. The buyer pays it, and tracking is advised.
  • Any subscription. None was described to this site. Read the checkout summary before you confirm, every time.

If anything appears at checkout that is not on this list, that is a discrepancy we would want to hear about through the editorial inbox. This page is written from what the seller supplied, and a checkout that disagrees with it is a fault worth correcting.

Our view, labelled as a view

Is it worth it

This site is published by the seller. Read the next four paragraphs with that in mind.

At $1.63 to $2.63 a day this is priced like a formulated supplement. The niacin line justifies some of that — 47% of a Daily Value is a real nutritional contribution and it is delivered in a capsule somebody actually takes. That part is fine.

The amino acids are the problem. 536 mg of commodity amino acids per capsule, against studied doses measured in grams, is not a formula whose pricing rests on its contents. A buyer who wants citrulline at 2.4 g a day can have it for a fraction of this, and should.

The case for buying anyway is the two-bottle pack at $158 with a 60-day window that covers it exactly: a bounded, refundable trial of a daily habit. The case against is that the arithmetic on the capsule count page does not improve at any price.

What we will not do is call it a bargain. Thirty-eight per cent off a formula that is ten to sixty times below its own studied doses is thirty-eight per cent off the same formula.

Context, not a gotcha

What the ingredients cost as commodities

The five amino acid entries on this label are commodity materials sold in bulk to the sports nutrition industry. That is worth saying plainly, because it is the context in which a per-gram figure means anything.

We are not going to quote bulk prices, because they move constantly and we were not given any. What can be said is structural: citrulline, arginine and beta-alanine are all sold as tubs of powder in servings measured in grams, which is the format the trials used and the format the doses fit in.

A capsule product in this category is therefore selling convenience and a daily habit rather than dose. That is a real thing to sell and there is nothing wrong with charging for it. It is only a problem when the front of the bottle implies the other thing.

The honest way to price-compare here

Work out what one serving delivers after the salt conversion, find the lowest studied dose, and calculate what a studied dose of that ingredient would cost from this product. On the citrulline, at the six-bottle price, that is about $25 a day. Nobody would pay it, and that is the point: the figure tells you the product is not competing on dose.

Our reading

Which pack, if any

A seller recommending a pack size is not a neutral act, so here is the reasoning rather than a recommendation.

Each pack against the guarantee.
PackDays of productDays of guaranteeUncovered
Two bottles6060None
Three bottles906030 days
Six bottles18060120 days

Scroll this table sideways →

The two-bottle pack is the only one where the product and the protection line up exactly. It is also the most expensive per day, which is the trade.

The six-bottle pack saves 38% per day and leaves four months of capsules outside any window. For a buyer who has already taken this for two months and decided to continue, that is a reasonable purchase. For a first order it is a $294 bet on a formula you have not tried, where two thirds of what you bought cannot be returned.

That is the arithmetic. What you do with it is your business, and the seller of this product has just told you the cheapest pack is the one that covers you least.

Where the money goes

What moves a price in this category

A reader looking at $79 for thirty capsules reasonably asks what the other costs are. None of the figures below was supplied to this site, so this is a structural description of the category rather than an account of this business.

Raw material
For commodity amino acids, the smallest line on the list by some distance.
Encapsulation and bottling
Contract manufacturing, the capsule shells, the bottle, the induction seal, the label and the batch records.
Testing
Where it happens. Identity, assay and contaminant panels are real costs, and the absence of a certificate on this product is consistent with a category that often skips them.
Fulfilment
Warehousing, picking, packing and postage.
Payment processing
Card fees, and chargeback reserves.
The guarantee reserve
Money set aside against refunds. A longer window costs more here.
Support
A phone line that answers during business hours is a person, and people are the most expensive item on this list.
Marketing
In direct-response supplements, routinely the largest line of all.

That last row is the honest one. In this category the cost structure is usually dominated by customer acquisition rather than by contents, which is why per-gram arithmetic produces figures that look absurd. It is not a scandal; it is what a direct-to-consumer supplement is.

It is also why the ingredient arithmetic on this site matters. If most of what you are paying for is not the material, the material had better be doing something, and that is the question the capsule count page answers.

The last word

A note on discounts

Thirty-eight per cent off six bottles is a real saving on the price and no change at all to the product. The capsule count page reads the same at $49 a bottle as at $79.

That is worth holding onto whenever a pack-size discount is doing the persuading. The question a discount answers is how much you pay. The question this site is about is what you get.
